ROADFILL 2Mpa+ POTHOLE REPAIR KIT DETAILS & SPECIFICATIONS:
  • 1 x Water proof bag containing 25Kg of selected, recycled high strength aggregate with GE-NANO modified bitumen binder.
  • 1 x Seperate 2,2lt pre-packed polymerised emulsion liquid.
  • Road Pavement Plaster: a prefabricated surface plaster comprising polymer modified binders, key ingredients and activators along with aggregates that have been solidly embedded onto a bituminous cardboard backing strip (Optional).
  1. Preparation:
    Clear the pothole of all loose debris and lightly dampen the cleaned edges inside the pothole to assist with bonding new and old aggregate.
  2. Mixing:
    Mix 2 litres of pre-packed polymerised bitumen emulsion thoroughly with the pothole aggregate. This will result in a mix at the correct moisture content without the need to add water.
  3. Filling:
    Fill the pothole in 100mm layers, thoroughly compacting each layer to the project specifications. Ensure that the finished level is 5mm to 10mm higher that the existing road surface. Refer to 'CSIR Pothole Repair Guide: 2010.'
  4. Finishing:
    Pour the remaining 200ml of the pre-packed polymerised bitumen emulsion liquid over the surface and along the edges of the pothole repair using a paint brush for even distribution and to fill any voids. Allow the remaining polymerised bitumen emulsion liquid to break (colour turns from brown to black) before opening to traffic or applying the Pavement Plaster. Ensure that the remaining polymerised bitumen emulsion liquid is applied at least 75mm beyond the extent of the pothole on all sides if a Pavement Plaster is to be applied.
  5. Pavement Plaster (Optional):
    • Cut to size from the cardboard backing underside using a Stanley Knife or carpet knife ensuring that the Pavement Plaster overlaps the repaired area by at least 75mm on all sides.
    • Apply cold bitumen emulsion (SS60) by pouring over the area and spreading evenly.
    • Position the Pavement Plaster and firmly push it into place to ensure good adhesion with the underlying pothole repair. Pressure can be exerted by walking over the Pavement Plaster or with a roller.
    • Allow the bitumen to break, this should take 5 to 10 mins.
    • Open to traffic.

Contine to save time and money with our PAVEMENT PLASTER. The PAVEMENT PLASTER offers a further enhancement to the pothole repair kit, which is a flexible, hard wearing, water resistant stone aggregate surface seal with a modified binder.

PAVEMENT PLASTER DETAILS & SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Packaged in 1,2m x 1,0m plasters, each with a small tin of modified bitumen emulsion (required as the adhesive).
  • The riding surface of the Pavement Plaster is covered with 9,5mm single sized stone or 13,2mm stone chocked with 6,7mm stone.
